Notice of Your Rights Under the No Surprises Act
Effective January 1, 2022
As part of your rights under federal law, you are entitled to:
1. A Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your mental health care will cost.
This estimate will include expected charges for services provided at The Ventus Center.
We typically estimate the cost in 6-month increments, even if your care is not expected to take 6 months. This is because psychotherapy in so individualized and sometimes challenging to predict.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day (in most cases) before your scheduled services. You can also request one at any time.
If you schedule services more than 3 days in advance, we will automatically provide this to you. If you are uninsured or not using insurance, you are especially encouraged to request a Good Faith Estimate.
2. The Right to Dispute a Bill
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to dispute it.
You can initiate a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This process does not affect your care but may help resolve any billing concerns.
